Richard Smith is an English guitarist born in Beckenham, England. He first picked up a guitar at five years old and quickly became a child prodigy, learning the entire discographies of Chet Atkins and Django Reinhardt. At the age of 11, Chet Atkins invited him to play at Her Majesty's Theatre in London. He is most well-known for his Chet Atkins style fingerpicking, but his repertoire includes country, bluegrass, blues, ragtime, folk, jazz, pop, and classical music. 

He has a number of accolades, including:
