One of the most celebrated and recognizable guitars of all time, the Inspired by Gibson Hummingbird is now available from Epiphone with an all-solid wood package. First released in 1960 as Gibson's first square shoulder dreadnought, the Hummingbird became a legend through the artists that made it their own such as Keith Richards, Sheryl Crow, and Bob Dylan. It was indirectly released as a rival to Martin's D-18, but with Gibson chic. Striking Cherry Sunburst finish, mother-of-pearl split parallelogram inlay, gold tuning machines, and of course the epoxy-style hummingbird pick guard.
Epiphone has been pushing for higher quality in the last few years as the overseas factories have been slowly but relentlessly improving. With Gibson's version priced at $ 4,000, the $ 899 price tag on the Epiphone looks more and more tempting.
Down to brass tacks, the Epiphone not only features the all-solid construction including the one piece mahogany neck; it also boasts a genuine rosewood fingerboard, bone saddle and nut, and a glued in set neck with a tapered dovetail joint. The cherry on top is the Fishman S-Core undersaddle pickup and Presys VT preamp. Specs you'd be hard pressed to find in a guitar twice the price.
The rounded C neck profile fills space in your hand without feeling chunky, and the semi-gloss finish gets the glossy look without feeling like sticky high gloss urethane. All complete with an Epiphone gig bag, these are specs even the most discerning Gibson fan will have a hard time ignoring. Try it today!
This is a BRAND NEW guitar. If you have any questions, feel free to shoot us a message, give us a call or stop by anytime!
As usual, this guitar has been professionally inspected and setup by our in-house luthiers.
