These are a hidden gem! A Sleeping Cult Classic for sure - most people don't even know about the existence of these 86/87 Melody Makers. These are a reissue of the original single cut '59 melody maker, but with 3 major improvements. Mini Grover Tuners, Humbucker Pickup and an ABR-1 Bridge/Tailpiece set up. This one has a rosewood fretboard. This is a player's grade example. There are nicks, dings and scratches all over consistent with its age. It appears to be all original minus the pickup which been replaced with a SCREAMING BC Rich humbucker. The neck is a very comfortable profile that sits right in-between a chunky 50's neck and a 60's slim taper however does suffer from some twisting. The single humbucker delivers a raw, punchy tone with lots of gain and grit that sounds especially good with some natural tube overdrive. A great lightweight, no-frills guitar guitar! Does not include a case.
This is a great vintage and USED instrument. It is in player grade condition and has the dents, dings, and scratches to show for it. There is also a slight twist in the neck.
