USED Electro-Harmonix LPB-1

Every boost pedal on the market today is standing on the shoulders of this thing. The LPB-1 was Mike Matthews' very first product, hand-built in 1968, and it's the reason Electro-Harmonix exists at all. Sixty-some years later, EHX still makes it, virtually unchanged, because there was never really anything to fix.

The circuit is almost insultingly simple: one transistor, four resistors, two capacitors. That's the whole point. No digital modeling, no multi-stage gain structure, just a clean, honest push that slaps your amp's front end and lets it do the rest of the work. One knob controls how hard it hits, ranging from a barely-there volume nudge to full-on tube saturation, and true bypass means it disappears completely when it's off.

Run it first in the chain to drive your amp into natural breakup. Drop it in front of a fuzz or overdrive to tighten up the low end. Or park it at the end of the chain as a straightforward solo boost. It handles all three jobs without ever coloring your tone on its own; it just makes whatever comes next in line work harder.

This is a USED pedal in GOOD condition.
