This is the Strat for the player leveling up from their first guitar — not shopping for a shelf piece.
Fender's Player II update fixed the real complaints about the original Player Series: sharp fret edges, mediocre tuners, a neck that never quite felt finished. This one gets the Modern "C" profile with rolled fingerboard edges, genuine Fender ClassicGear tuners, and a slab rosewood board that already feels played-in. Alder body, three single-coils, 5-way blade switching — glassy neck-pickup cleans through snarly bridge bite, all on tap.
Play it for five minutes and you'll get what "broken in" means here — lived-with, not lived-hard. It comps through changes with that classic Strat chime, but it's no one-trick pony: dig into the bridge pickup with some gain and it snarls through palm mutes, sharper than you'd expect from a single-coil. Clean tones one minute, grinding through distortion the next — rarer than advertised at this price point.
The 3-Color Sunburst isn't the razor-tight fade you'd find on a Vintera or Custom Shop piece, and we're not going to pretend it is. The three-color burst still looks knockout: like a Stratocaster should.
This is a USED instrument in VERY GOOD condition.
