The Upper Bout
USED Lentz Reserve S '56
When you’re ready to step up to an instrument that will surpass every expectation you have ever had for a guitar — and much, much more — then the Lentz Reserve S Style is for you. Lentz's Reserve S Style guitars have the DNA of the great guitar designs from the 1950s imbedded deep within them. However, a great design does not necessarily mean a great guitar, and it takes a very special kind of luthier to recognize the deeper possibilities and brilliance of a traditional guitar design, and to work patiently over years and years to thoroughly understand that guitar’s potential. With the Reserve S Style guitar, Lentz brings together their very best, 25-year cabinet-aged woods, an uber-flamed neck, standard one-piece ash body, three custom hand-wound single-coil pickups specially matched to the individual guitar, and a profusion of parts — including bridge, saddles, strap buttons, lacquered nitrate pickguard, pickguard shield, trem plate, and more — all custom made. They exclusively use NOS paper-in-oil capacitors (hermetically sealed) with potentiometer matching. This guitar is nothing short of a masterpiece, built by two artists at the top of their game. Only once in a blue moon do we at The Upper Bout have the privilege of playing a vintage-correct guitar that sounds as rich and beautiful as it looks - and this Lentz Reserve S Style guitar is at the pinnacle of playability and sonic excellence.
