Introduced in 1987, the Stratocaster Plus series was Fender's highest end production model, second only to the Custom Shop until 1998. This series of instruments took Fender's most iconic guitar and overhauled it with modern specs (for 1987). The alder body and maple neck remained the same, with Fender-Lace Sensor pickups, locking tuners, a roller nut, and a 2-point bridge. This particular model was originally red, but had been professionally refinished at some point in its life with a gorgeous metallic burst finish.
