Hailed in some circles as the middle ground between a Squier and an AVRI/Custom Shop - the Classic '60s Series is the go-to option for nitro finish, vintage spec'd current production Fenders.Fender has quoted these guitars as having polyester undercoats, followed by five coats of Seagrave L-4540 high-solids nitrocellulose lacquer for the colour and top coats. Sanded and buffed to that glossy shine over the beautifully contoured, two-piece alder body, these look stunning - especially in Fiesta Red. The traditional specs continue with a 7.25 radius maple neck with vintage-style frets. The '60s model's rounded, C-profile neck feels great, especially if you like vintage feeling neck profiles. Although it doesn't noticeably taper in thickness like the new American Vintage necks it still feels really solid in hand. The pickups are quoted as being Fender's "Vintage-Style Strat" pickups and have that signature snappy responsive single coil tone. While not as low output and glassy as true vintage pickups these suffice just fine for retro sounds. Comes with the original Fender tweed hardshell case with orange plush interior.
