From the golden era of Fender Japan - this 1987 Candy Apple Red Strat is a PLAYER. With a buttery smooth neck and tone complemented by a rosewood slab fingerboard and a mixed set of upgraded staggered pole pickups denote that this bad boy is an early '62 Reissue model in excellent condition and in good working order. Designed to pay homage to the golden era Pre-CBS Strat, this early Fender Japan reissue is acoustically resonant and lively, with a slab rosewood fretboard and trio of staggered-pole alnico magnet single coils. Crafted in the famed Fujigen factory in Japan, this early "Made in Japan" Strat was made exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and is rarely seen outside its country of origin. This guitar nails the chimey, slightly scooped midrange Strat sound with aplomb. The neck pickup delivers a throaty zing, while the "in between" positions on the five-way switch have plenty of the classic quack for which Strats are known. The maple neck has a slender C shaped profile with lightly rolled fretboard edges. The thick slab rosewood fretboard has a 7 1/4" vintage fretboard radius and the original frets have lots of life left. The headstock sports a Pre-CBS small Strat shape, with correct logo and Kluson style Gotoh tuners which turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The electronics all work as they should, with three original staggered pole piece, alnico V magnet single coils. This also features a David Gilmour Strat style wiring to complement the pickup selection - allowing you to blend the bridge pickup into any position.  This thing plays and plays and plays. Don't miss out on a great example of a "Made in Japan" 1962 reissue Strat that easily rivals most USA built counterparts.
