1986 Fender Contemporary Telecaster

During the mid-eighties, Fender had reduced production due to competitors taking over market share. Fender worked with their partners over in the Fujigen factory in Japan, known for making some of the best Fender guitars of all time, to produce shredder guitars to appease the hair metal craze of the eighties. Thus, the Contemporary Series was born along with this Telecaster. Featuring an HSS configuration with high output pickups, locking tremolo, and tons of voicing options, this guitar won't leave you wanting more when it comes to versatility.

This guitar has also been around with stories to tell, as you can imagine by the pictures. It's been beat up and kicked around in all sorts of places, but at the end of the day it still plays great after a fresh setup. Unlike many guitars, the lion's share of the fret wear is farther up the neck, but the frets still have many years of playing left before they need to be addressed. The original trem arm is lost to time, but aftermarket parts are still being produced and the guitar is priced accordingly. Alternatively, block the trem and use it as a hard tail shredder!

This is a USED guitar in GOOD condition. Plenty of dents and dings, but perfectly playable. If you have any questions feel free to shoot us a message, give us a call or stop by any time!

As usual, this guitar has been professionally inspected and setup by our in-house luthiers.
