Up for grabs is a STELLAR, PLAYER-GRADE, PRE-CBS vintage Fender Duo-Sonic. This beauty comes to us from the year 1957 and before the acquisition of Fender by CBS in 1965! It originally had a Desert Sand finish with the gold anodized pickguard but came to us in rattle-can black. We wanted to give this Fender the treatment it deserves so we had it refinished and refretted at Third Coast Guitars in Chicago, IL, in a super striking relic'd Sonic Blue finish to match the original wear on the neck and hardware. They do super work and we send all of our specialty work to them. The original pickups were dead on arrival and have been switched out for a killer set of Seymour Duncan Antiquity Surfer Strat Neck and Bridge Pickups. These are extremely glassy, low output, vintage-voiced single coils that harken back to the golden years of Fender with these classic 60's sounding pickups. The brand new frets are a nice medium jumbo size and feel great The neck features pretty heavy wear on the fingerboard up until about the 9th fret. The back of the neck has been rubbed down significantly and is extremely comfortable with a nice shiny satin hand-rubbed finish after 60+ years of play. The internals are all original minus the pickups. The pickguard is original and all hardware except for the pickup selector switch tip are also original. Neck is Straight and Truss Rod is functional. Comes w/ OHSC.
This is a USED/VINTAGE guitar. It is an EXCELLENT, PLAYER-GRADE condition consistent with 50+ years of play. The neck wear is all original and the body wear is from a relic by Third Coast Guitars.
