The Upper Bout

Used Gibson Custom Shop 1952 J-185

Don't miss out on a little piece of Gibson History!
Look out Upper Bout fans - this one is one of Ricky's personal favorites. He's been on the hunt for one of these from Gibson for years.

The J-185 was originally released in 1951 and is one of Gibson's most fabled silhouettes. Designed to be just slightly smaller in proportion to the larger SJ-200, the J-185 used similar appointments, and a classic pairing of Sitka spruce and maple back and sides for its construction. This Custom Historic 1952 J-185 is further enhanced with a Thermally Aged Sitka spruce top and an absolutely stunning flame maple back and sides. Sporting classic J-185 appointments including iconic Maltese crosses inlaid in mother-of-pearl on the open slot bridge, this is a rare model, but highly desired by Ricky, and fellow historic Gibson lovers worldwide.

This is a USED instrument in EXCELLENT condition. This guitar was only owned for a few months and was played sparingly and lovingly. If you have any questions please feel free to shoot us a message, visit us in-store or give us a call at (217) 607-8132.
