The Texwest El Charro is a customized spec of the traditional 5F1 Narrow Panel Tweed Champ amplifier. El Charro is intended to pay full tribute to this classic design while making a few subtle enhancements. It is built with a slightly larger cabinet than the original 5F1 to get a more open bass response and avoid the small boxy sound of the original. A 3 position drive switch is added to both brighten up the amp and add more gain, while preserving the original 5F1 circuit in its “standard spec” position. With one volume knob for controls - players have loved the simplicity and raw Fender tube grit that you get out of these little small body amps. This thing has big sound in its little chassis. You don't wanna miss out on this one.
