1969 Fender Super Reverb

In the early '60s, most rockers were using either British amplifiers or American Fenders--specifically Fender Twin Reverbs. The Twin Reverb is a 100 watt pushing through 2x12" speakers and back then, the only way to get them to break was to set the volume at 10 and hope for the best. This is still one of the easiest ways to get a classic rock 'n roll sound, but it comes with the catch of permanent hearing loss if you're not careful. And most rockers aren't.

Thus, in 1963 Fender released the Super Reverb, with a 4x10" speaker cabinet and 40 watts of output power. This allowed the amp to break up earlier and at less harsh volumes than the Twin Reverb. Not to say this amplifier is quiet, it's still one of the loudest amps on the market--but we're grading on a scale here. The Super Reverb came with the same compliments as the Twin; a big spring tank and and tremolo circuit driven by the tubes.

This one came to us in good condition, with a few original parts included as it appears some tubes and capacitors replaced. Footswitch and some original parts included, as well as a 3-prong power cable. This is truly a relic, and a part of rock 'n roll history--even if SRV didn't use it personally.
