1971 Fender Twin Reverb

The Fender Twin Reverb is a part of rock history, because it was one of the most robust and readily available amplifiers of its time. Its inception in the '50s was driven by jazz performers looking for a sparkling clean amp with tons of clean headroom. The Twin was adopted and widely popular in that genre, but during the British invasion of the early '60s, guitar players would set the volume to 10 for that signature distorted rock 'n roll tone and the rest is history. Chuck Berry, Mark Knopfler, David Gilmour, Keith Richards, The Beatles, Buddy Holly, Jerry Garcia, Eric Johnson all played a Fender Twin at one point or another. "Prolific" would be an understatement in the '60s.

The 85-watt 2x12" combo is a staple even in the modern guitarist's lexicon--The massive headroom is still popular for jazz, they take overdrive/distortion pedals remarkably well in the rock world, and blues players still prefer the natural breakup over anything else. 4 6L6 power tubes are the foundation of the American clean guitar tone, and the vibrato and spring reverb effects have been copied into oblivion for good reason.

This amplifier came to us in good condition with no tears in the grill cloth, but this amp has been around the block. Just simply hitting the power or standby switches will tell you this amp was well used and well liked. Hand-wired and American made, get the amp that started it all.
